Tucson Unified Virtual Academy is a new TUSD school supporting students in Kindergarten through 12th grade that prefer a remote learning environment but want strong teacher interaction.
What grades can attend?

Kindergarten-5th grade
will experience real-time, direct teaching Monday-Friday just like being in-person. They will have a teacher and class for the year, will follow an academic instructional schedule, and will have online support tools to enhance their learning.
6-12th gradestudents will have a certified subject teacher who will support each student using Apex Learning for coursework. These students will follow an academic instructional schedule Monday-Friday; classes are not self-paced. Students will have support staff and counselors to provide guidance and answer questions.

We start August 3rd for the 2022-2023 school year and follow the district calendar.

All technology devices and software are free and provided by Tucson Unified School District.
Where are they enrolled?
Where are they enrolled?
Beginning with the 2022-23 School Year Students will be enrolled at TUVA directly. Parents will choose TUVA as their child's school during online registration in ParentVue. Making this choice for the 2022-23 School Year will remove the student from any other placements they have at other TUSD schools.

Yes, the TUVA students can participate in the after school programs at their Home School. They may not participate at a school they were previously enrolled at unless it is their Home School.

Yes, in order to receive the educational skills needed and meet the Arizona Department of Education attendance hours, students must attend their scheduled TUVA instructional classes every regular school day (Monday – Friday).

No fees are required. This is a program within Tucson Unified School District, which is a public school district.

How do I register for TUVA?
How do I register for TUVA?
To register, log into your ParentVUE account, select Online Registration (OLR), choose TUVA as your school. For more details on registration at TUVA please visit the TUVA registration and enrollment page on the TUVA website.

Your child's Student ID is sometimes called their "matric" number.
If you have a ParentVUE account, you can find your their Student ID (or matric number) in ParentVUE.
Students can also find their matric/Student ID in StudentVUE.
